IMPACT 2019

The University of Pittsburgh molds us into the individuals that we will become. It is here that we learn our shared sense of community, hard work, and determination to succeed. In order for you to impact our world, your university must impact you. We want to make an impact on your life.

 

We’ll do that by making it easier for students to communicate what’s affecting them, allowing us to better represent you.  We want to work with the Office of Career Development and Placement Assistance to help connect students to alumni and other resources specific to their major and aspirational career goals, making our students more competitive in their job markets.  At the current moment we as students aren’t able to control our rent nearly as much as we should. With a tenant union we as students would be able to take back control, and demand more out of our landlords than we currently have.

 

We want to nurture the success of all Pitt students regardless of the great challenges that they may face. Food insecurity affects many students’ choice of meal plan entering their first and second years. Meals should always be accessible to students, and it is our job to erase that stigma.

 

It is clear that there are many challenges facing the Pitt Community. From food insecurity to issues with off campus housing, from good samaritan policies to making our campus a safer place and filling in the gaps that exist in our mental health services. These challenges can be met, but not without you and a dedicated board. Vote Impact to have an impact!
